Paul Gaines​

Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Real Estate and Co-founder of Detroit Chinatown Group

Gaines is a Kettering University graduate and was the Kettering National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) treasurer for several years. In this role, he dealt with the financial planning and spending for all meetings and events. During his studies at Kettering University, Paul studied abroad in Germany and also traveled to a dozen other European countries. This allowed him to learn several cultures and make many international connections. In his professional career, he has worked for fortune 500 companies in various groups solving problems and developing processes. But what Mr. Gaines is most passionate about however, is his hometown of Detroit. He is very prideful about all things Detroit. The Gaines family’s businesses have had a large number of investments in Metro Detroit, including residential real estate and bars for over 45 years. Therefore, Gaines has strong local connections. Michigan’s influential businessman, Tom Celani, has a storied history and is a very close friend of the Gaines family.​
